Mohan played the largest instrument in the gamba family.
He was very tall but his instrument was way taller then he was. It caused
him many problems such as lack of options for transportation and a serious
pain in his right arm – that was held almost always up. Because of that,
Mohan tried to avoid all the chores. Mowing the lawn was painful due to the
vibrations of the mower. Still, he had to do it; all neighbors demanded nicely
looking grass in the area. “They should celebrate the dandelions,” he
kept saying to himself, “They are strong, resistant, temperature independent
and grow fast. It’s just a convention to prefer green color over yellow.
If only people would notice that, all the lawns would always look pretty,
without being mowed or being watered much.” He kept thinking, “If
I were a president, I would convince them all how environmentally safe and
water preserving this decision would be.” He never wanted to be a president,
director, or any kind of a person with power. He used to say, “When
you have power, it will change you, when you have money, you will be envied.” Also,
this would take his thoughts and actions away from his playing, studies
on his rare instrument, and composing music just for his instrument.
